In Pictures: Paragon’s 2017 Monaco Grand Prix
The 2017 Monaco Grand Prix took place at the weekend and Paragon were there as always for another sensational year of glitz & glamour, and the occasional race!
Our Monaco GP day trip clients and senior event managers were up at the crack of dawn as their flight departed at 6am from our private Harrods terminal in Stansted and weekend guests made their way from nearby Nice & Monaco itself to the hospitality facilities; the Shangri La balcony, yacht, Marriott hotel & more. The food was exquisite and the champagne was in full flow as guests in the Marriott watched Paul di Resta take part in a Q&A with Sky Sports’ Vicky Gomersall. The views from the Shangri La and yachts were unmatched for catching the racing action.
Native Britons willed Hamilton for victory. But alas, it was not to be; getting from 13th at the start to 7th at finish was a decent return for the Mercedes driver as overtaking on Monaco’s extremely tight track proved very difficult on the day. Sebastian Vettel was the eventual winner after a superbly tactical pit stop which brought him into poll position ahead of Raikkonen. The race itself was a standard affair for Monaco and the most noteworthy thing to occur was when the safety car arrived on the track which meant some drivers gained time and others lost.
The weather was superb on the day at 25°C although in the Grandstands it sometimes felt like 55°C. The clear sunny skies were relished by casual fans, yet despised by petrolheads who love a wet track to add an edge for an extra exciting race.
As per usual, there were many famous faces in attendance at the Grand Prix on the day with Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and Chase Carey seen out and about posing with fans, enjoying the uniqueness of the Monaco Grand Prix. All in all, a great day had by many.
