In Pictures: The Ashes Launch Dinner
A fantastic evening was had by all last night at the Nursery Pavilion at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s. Weather, food, champagne and excellent company meant a cracking Thursday night raising money for Cricket United.
The evening started with a Laurent Perrier champagne reception and with the weather as lovely as it was that guests split out onto the terrace enjoying spectacular views of the pavilion, the Media Centre and the sun going down over Lord’s.
A delicious three course dinner included citrus cured salmon to start, an indulgent trio of lamb that followed, which included a seared cutlet, braised neck fillet and pulled shoulder croquette with potato dauphinoise, minted beans, peas & rosemary jus and finished off with a delicate white chocolate and blueberry cheesecake with blueberries.
The evening was hosted by English cricket commentator and former player, Mark Nicholas and we were entertained by Q&A panels with various cricketing legends including; Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Liam Plunkett, James Anderson and Matthew Hoggard just to name a few. So we weren’t short of a few laughs.
The night didn’t end there, those who were still raring to go made their way to the official after party at Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair for more complimentary champagne and plenty of fun. A great night had by all.
