Monaco Grand Prix Viewing Options – The Insider’s Guide

In Formula 1’s most famous race, viewing options are many, varied and often confusing. The Monaco Grand Prix street circuit winds its way around Monaco Harbour before climbing up to Casino Square and Monte Carlo. Every inch of the track is overlooked by Monaco’s famous towering apartment blocks, grand old hotels, luxury super yachts or Grandstands. People planning their Monaco trip can be paralysed by choice.

Here, one of our Monaco experts tries to unpick the choices and provide a useful guide, based on the factors that you might find important when making your choice.

BEST FOR VALUE
We’re not just talking about the cheapest option here – that would be Secteur Rocher at £85 per person – but aboumeal-at-the-monaco-f1-clubt real, genuine value: what am I getting for my money?
That price at Rocher gets you an unreserved standing spot on the side of a hill. The view is good, but this is no place for comfort, with thousands of fellow standing spectators, most of whom have woken up at 4am to reserve the best spots. We’ll not even talk about that!rachel-wyse-and-paul-di-resta-at-monaco
With th at in mind, we’d recommend the Monaco F1 Club at the Marriott, combined with a T Lower Grandstand Ticket. For that, guests enjoy a glass of champagne, a pre-race 3-course lunch, a Q&A with an F1 driver, an escorted walk to the Grandstands for your close-up view of the action, then post-race snacks with a private cash bar: all for £535 per person – cheaper than some of the Grandstands!

BEST FOR ATMOSPHERE
For atmosphere, it’s best to be in the thick of it: surrounded by the most ardent fans and close enough to the action to feel the power of the engines. If that’s what you’re after, there’s no better place to watch from than K Grandstand. The largest of all Monaco’s Grandstands, K provides a close-up view of the track and a panoramic view over the luxury yachts in Monaco Harbour: a signature Monaco view. You’ll also get a great look at the drivers as they tour the circuit on the pre-race track parade.k-grandstand-monaco
K Grandstand is £535 per person – and the option is there to upgrade to include hospitality. For atmosphere we’d recommend looking at the Paddock Lounge, which overlooks the Formula 1 Paddock so you can see the drivers and teams pre-race as they prepare, and post-race as they commiserate or celebrate. Paddock Lounge with K Grandstand is £1,145.

BEST FOR VIEW

By its nature this will be subjective, but we’ve had 16 years’ experience of viewing the race from all parts of the track, and we’d always recommend Shangri La. A luxury apartment building adjacent to the starting grid, Shangri La plays host to the Monaco VIP Club, our hospitality facility on the 6th floor. champagne-on-the-shangri-la-balcony
From there, guests enjoy a panoramic view over 60% of the track and the whole jaw-dropping vista of Monaco Harbour in all its glory. There are literally no better views in sport, let alone Formula 1.

Shangri La is a 2-day package at £1995 per person, with single days available on request. As well as the view, guests enjoy full VIP hospitality throughout: with open bar, gourmet food and dedicated event management staff.

BEST FOR VIP EXPERIENCE
When the VIP’s come to Monaco there is one thing they want to do above all others: get on a yacht! Some would say that until you’ve stood on the top deck of a super yacht with a glass of champagne in hand watching the Grand Prix unfold just yards away, you’re letting the best in life pass you by. Our Luxury Trackside Super Yacht is a 41-metre beauty with 3 viewing decks and world-class VIP service throughout. If we’re lucky, some celebs or F1 stars might pop by to say hello.luxury-hospitality-yacht-packages-at-monaco
Guests enjoy gourmet food and complimentary bar throughout, including all the champagne you could want. The cost is £2,750 per person for a 2-day VIP package, and worth every penny.
