Organising ‘An Evening with the Stars’ from the Event Management Expert
With October just around the corner we are edging closer to our 5th ‘An Evening with the Stars’ in aid of BBC Children in Need at the iconic Battersea Evolution. Having been part of the event management since the very beginning in 2011, it is fantastic to see how it has grown over the years with the number of guests, calibre of talent and most importantly the support.
Returning to Battersea Evolution this year after Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel in 2014 is a really exciting time. Battersea Evolution as a venue is an event organiser’s playground. The flexibility and diversity of the venues allows us to bring in a F1 race car, a duelling Piano band, a dancefloor fit for Strictly Come Dancing stars and over 1000 guests under the star cloth.
This year’s menu will be decided following our tasting on Wednesday 30th September with SMART, a wonderful catering company who works alongside the renowned Angela Hartnett. Previous years have consisted of braised beef cheeks, oven roasted cod and shoulder of lamb so 2015 guests can only expect the same outstanding quality.
The last few weeks building up to BBC Children in Need is very much focused on tweaking the final details. Ensuring all the technical requirements are met for Scouting for Girls, Piano Factor, LED Dance Troupe and Tom Chaplin performances. The wine and Champagne is on order, the centre pieces are chosen and Pudsey & Blush are ready to meet the crowds.
As everything comes together, the team count down the days to a wonderful evening with great entertainment, indulged food and raising a significant amount of money for a truly worthy cause.
