Reminiscing on… Last Year’s Christmas Parties

We love organising Christmas parties, so we just thought we’d take this sunny Wednesday and the fact that the Christmas season is fast approaching as an opportunity to share with you one of our favourites and go back and reminisce…

What a night! 2013 brought us to the exclusive Eight Members Club and the Boundary Restaurant and 2014 to the ACE Hotel and Far Rockaway in Shoreditch. Both years their celebrations took place over two days, one day for their clients and the other for their employees.

Highlights of the evening… Starting with the client celebration at the ACE Hotel in Shoreditch, this is one of those venues that just speak for themselves, the ACE Hotel does just that. It’s sophisticated and cool, yet edgy with an eclectic mix of interiors and a spectacular view! The view is out of this world and enjoyed best when sipping on a cool beverage and enjoying the city skyline of the architecturally brilliant Gherkin, the sky scraping Heron Tower and sharpness of the Shard. Have a read of our blog ‘Venues with a View’ for more information on the venue. The evening however didn’t stop at the venue… the canapés were phenomenal and everyone really enjoyed the combination of Hoi Polloi burgers to lobster rolls to cumin salted squid finishing with chocolate and honeycomb. The guests were spoilt for choice. The entertainment oozed style and completely fit with the venue, there were contortionists and specialist hula performers as well as a magician that wowed all night long.

The following evening brought us to Far Rockaway also in the ever trendy Shoreditch for the employee celebration. If you want to reward your employees for working their socks off all year and inspire them for the following year then this is the way to go. How would I describe it in three words? Retro, edgy and really cool. The venue itself was another showstopper, ceilings decorated with skateboards boasting abstract art, neon American lighting and a random mix of colourful furniture. And the food… where to start, it was American style and there were pizzas larger than your face, burgers, hotdogs, wings… Basically the ‘American Dream’! The entertainment was old-school fun and got everyone involved, we’re talking table football, Guitar Hero and yes there was even scalextrics.

Two busy yet exciting nights for the Paragon Events team but… Bring on 2015.
