Upcoming Horse Racing Meetings to look forward to
As the Flat Season draws to a close Saturday saw the 5th and final British Classic of the year, the St. Leger Stakes at Doncaster, served up some drama as outsider Harbour Law held off some stiff competition in a three-way tussle to take the final leg of the Triple Crown. Meanwhile, leading favourite Idaho took a stumble early doors, unseated the rider, leaving the door open for any willing challenger. Though this weekend marked an unofficial end to the “major” race meets there are plenty more opportunities to enjoy premier horse racing in 2016 and a few steps closer to a favourite in the Paragon events calendar.
Race Meetings to look forward to…
QIPCO Champions Day, Ascot – Saturday 15th October
Champions of the Flat Season will be crowned Kings or Queens of the turf as the best horses and jockeys from around the world contend for a jaw-dropping £4.2million prize fund. As Britain’s richest ever race day, attendees will not be disappointed with the luxurious hospitality and fine dining experiences on offer, not to mention an after party to remember with world renowned DJ and producer Sigala playing to the masses once the action on course has come to a conclusion.
The Open, Cheltenham – Friday 11th – Sunday 13th November
The Open at Cheltenham has a real “country” feel to it as racegoers don their best tweed and waxed jackets for a weekend of thrilling action at the home of Jump Racing. Not only will punters enjoy the first-class racing on show across the three days but will also be able to relish in a shopping experience with dozens of pop-up stalls offering the very best country fare and local produce. The Open keeps the kids entertained on Sunday (third & final day) with free amusements and child-friendly activities for an unforgettable day for the whole family.
6 months and counting…
Cheltenham National Hunt Festival 2017, Cheltenham – Tuesday 14th – Friday 17th March
We love Cheltenham festival here at Paragon, arguably one of the best race meetings of the year and a jewel in the National Hunt calendar – numerous Grade I races and a huge selection of VIP hospitality experiences on offer add to the prestige making it a firm favourite with seasoned race-goers and one-punt wonders alike. With a whopping 265,000 pints of Guinness knocked back by spectators last year, Cheltenham is a fun and raucous day out, particularly from the Best Mate Enclosure, but can be equally enjoyed from a more serene environment at one for the course-facing suites and restaurants. Our VIP Club is a perfect fusion of the two, with fine dining and superb views of the racing from our private terrace combined with the entertaining Q&As and infectious camaraderie between the guests, there is no better way to soak up the Festival’s atmosphere.
