Why India Will Win The 2016 ICC World Twenty20
The ICC World Twenty20 will be played in India and runs from 11th March to 3rd April 2016.
The Indian side is one of the teams most suited to the short cricket format while Pakistan, South Africa and West Indies are also looking strong at the moment with their teams.
Australia, New Zealand and England have some of the best players in world Cricket but are in poor form. Australia just recently got trashed by India where India beat them 3 – 0 in the series.
Sri Lanka, the defending champions of the T20 World Cup, have got a stable side and will be very keen to defend their title. They have an extremely impressive track record in the T20 World Cup and so cannot be ignored.
The key players to watch this World Cup are the following: Virat Kholi (India), Rohit Sharma (India), Suresh Raina (India), AB de Villiers (South Africa), Chris Gayle (West Indies), SP Narine (West Indies), Mitchell Starc (Australia), Glen Maxwell (Australia), Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka), Ajentha Mendis (Sri Lanka), and Shaid Afridi (Pakistan).
If Virat Kholi, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina have a good World Cup, India will have a serious chance to win it. They have all been in good in recent times, especially Virat Kohli.
So to conclude, here are the reasons why India will win the ICC World Twenty20 2016:
• India are the world’s best in short format cricket – they are ranked Number 1 in the ICC T20 Cricket Ranking. India has got 4 current batsmen who are ranked in the top 20 list of ICC Batting Rankings, one of them being Virat Kohli who is ranked Number 2 in the world. They also have 2 current bowlers who are ranked in the top 10 list of ICC Bowling rankings. One of them is Ravichandran Aswin who is ranked number 2 in the world.
• India are very strong at home and the World Cup is being played in India. They have previously won the 50 over World Cup which was played in India and proves how strong they are at home. They also boast have a much higher win percentage at home than playing away.
• Home crowd advantage which means all eyes are on the Indian team. India has a population over 1.2 billion people and cricket is considered as everything to the people in India, and they will be doing their best to ensure they don’t let all those passionate fans down.
Therefore, India have to be considered the favourites to win the ICC World Twenty20 this year!
